Episode Review: Once Upon A Time Episode 1×11 “Fruit Of The Poisonous Tree”

This week’s episode of Once Upon A Time was phenomenal!  But then again, when hasn’t it been phenomenal?  Starting with this review, I am going to be trying something different. I usually basically post recaps with some opinions thrown in, but this time I’m going to try avoiding the recap heavy format and focus more on sharing my opinions.  Entries may be shorter than normal until I get the hang of it, so bear with me.  Anywho, now that I have that out of the way, click on to read the review!

“What Happened to Frederick” – With their love for each other growing stronger, David finally agrees to tell Kathryn about his relationship with Mary Margaret and put an end to his loveless marriage. Meanwhile, in the fairytale land that was, while runaway groom Prince Charming searches for Snow White, he agrees to aid Abigail on a dangerous mission to recover something precious that was lost to her, on “Once Upon a Time,” SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 19 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

“Once Upon a Time” stars Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White/Mary Margaret, Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan, Robert Carlyle as Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold, Lana Parrilla as Evil Queen/Regina, Jared Gilmore as Henry Mills, Josh Dallas as Prince Charming/David and Raphael Sbarge as Jiminy Cricket/Archie Hopper.

Guest starring are Anastasia Griffith as Kathryn/Abigail, Meghan Ory as Ruby/Red Riding Hood, Alan Dale as King George, Beverley Elliott as Granny, Eion Bailey as stranger/August W. Booth, Aria Pullman as Siren and Greyston Holt as gym teacher/Frederick.

“What Happened to Frederick” was written by David H. Goodman and directed by Dean White.

I wonder if this is the episode where Mary Margaret and David finally get together, or if Regina will do something to mess that up.  My money is on Regina meddling somehow because it still seems a bit too early for them to get together, I mean if they got together now they would have their happy ending.  So I think it will be stretched out a bit longer, much to the frustration of many viewers, but I guess we’ll find out soon enough!

Press Release: Grey’s Anatomy Episode 8×15 “Have You Seen Me Lately?”

Here’s the press release for the fifteenth episode of this season of Grey’s.

Guest Starring Caterina Scorsone. Other guest cast TBA.

“Have You Seen Me Lately?” was written by Austin Guzman and directed by Tony Phelan.

I don’t watch Private Practice so I have no idea who Erica is, though I guess I will find out when this episode airs.  I really can’t wait to see who passes their boards and who doesn’t, kinda like the Intern Exams from Season 3.  We know not everybody will pass, so it will be interesting to see who those unlucky people are.  I’m also interested in the development in Owen and Cristina’s relationship.  I’m not sure if counseling will help them at all, but at least they’re apparently making an attempt to work out their issues.  This season has been shaping up to be pretty good so far, and this episode doesn’t sound any different.

Promo: Once Upon A Time Episode 1×12 “Skin Deep”

Here is the promo for the next episode of Once Upon A Time, airing on February 12!

This is going to be so good.  I do have to admit that I was a bit surprised that they threw in this twist of making Rumpelstiltskin the “Beast” in the tale, but it should be interesting.  I’m curious to see how it plays out and if they can pull it off successfully.  Based on how the season has gone so far, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that it will go off without a hitch.  I can’t wait!

The Ratings Are In: Once Upon A Time

The ratings are in for this week’s episode of Once Upon A Time, let’s take a look at them shall we?

Viewers: 10.78 million

18-49 Rating: 3.4

FANTASTIC! In terms of viewers, it was the third most watched show last night.  But in terms of the 18-49 rating, it was the #1 show!  This show is like an unstoppable train, it is a huge ratings grabber and shows no signs of slowing down.  Most networks will be revealing their early renewals in the next few weeks (based on past history, early renewal happens in February) and I think this is the most obvious contender for early renewal by ABC.

Katherine Heigl on Grey’s, Animal Activism and More

Katherine Heigl has been out promoting her new film and, as we all know, has mentioned a desire to return to Grey’s.  But other things she has been discussing includes animal activism and her passion for this particular line of work.

The important thing, she says, is that fans understand that she still loves Izzie. “I wouldn’t want anyone to feel misled or feel confused by my answer and I just want everyone to know, ‘Hey I love that show and I love that character just as much as you do,'” she says.

Meanwhile, she’s been blogging about sex, marriage, and balancing career and family for iVillage. This week, she took things in a different direction with a blog about her passion for animal activism. We’ve already seen the Funny or Die “I Hate Balls” Video she did to encourage people to fix their pets.

“It was only four years ago that I became aware of the dire situation in our shelter systems and since then it has been immensely important to me to inform others who, like me, adore and respect their pets and would do anything to protect and shelter them but who are unaware of all the others in our country about animals suffering and dying needlessly,” she writes. “Four million healthy adoptable companion pets are being killed every year in our shelters due to overcrowding. I have faith, however, that animal lovers and activists at heart band together, we can change the statistics. The solutions can be complicated and seem impossible, but the reality is that there is something each one of us can do to help.”

Revenge: Life Imitating Art?

This qualifies more as “gossip” than it does “news” but, US Weekly is one of the more reputable sources as far as news goes so, I’m choosing to share it on here.  If it doesn’t turn out to be true, then oops!  And if it is true, congrats to the happy couple!

Revenge costars Emily VanCamp and Josh Bowman have taken their romance offscreen! A source tells the new issue of Us Weekly (on stands Friday) that the actress, 25, and the actor, 23, are an item. Though a second insider insists “it’s not serious” between the two, the actors rang in 2012 with pals at posh Paris club Rasputin.

I personally hope this is true.  I think they look good together and have amazing chemistry with each other.  Congrats again to the happy couple if the reports are true, I wish you all the best!

Katherine Heigl: “I Miss Grey’s”

For the last week or so, the story of a potential return to Grey’s Anatomy for Katherine Heigl has been dominating a lot of celebrity headlines.  Recently, she mentioned that she missed the show and she was sorry that she left.

Two years after leaving the ABC medical drama, Heigl wants to re-join the show, now in its eighth season.

“I miss it. I miss my friends. It was a great work environment in that we all got along really well. It becomes a family. I spent six years with these people every day. We grew up in a way,” she said on “The View” on Monday, adding that she was sorry she left “Grey’s.”

I’m going to sound like a broken record, but I really hope she comes back.  Katherine Heigl is awesome and I really miss seeing her on Grey’s.  Ideally, I’d like to see her come back full time but even if she only came back for a handful of episodes, I’d be okay.  I just want her back!! #bringIzzieback2Greys

Katherine Heigl: “Izzie Meant A Lot To Me”

At the premiere of her latest movie “One For The Money”, Katherine Heigl further discussed returning to Grey’s Anatomy.

“I always thought that there would be an opportunity to go back [to the show] for at least a few episodes to sort of wrap it up in a way that everyone could feel good about,” Katherine told Access Hollywood at the premiere of her new movie, “One for the Money,” in Los Angeles on Tuesday. “As of now, we’re like, ‘Where did Izzie go? What is she doing?”… While there were rumors that the now-33-year-old was no longer happy playing the quirky young doctor at the time of her exit, Katherine said Izzie will always have a place in her heart. “I loved that character and she meant a lot to me,” she told Access.

It’s nice to know that she is genuine about wanting to return, I know there are people out there who doubt her.  But I think it would be wonderful if she came back, and I really hope Shonda Rhimes takes it into consideration.  Let’s use the power of Twitter to get her on our side, folks!!  Tweet #bringIzzieback2Greys and let’s make our voices heard!
